Table Protector
ADVERTISEMENTS
When it comes to furniture, tables are the most common and will
be found in every household. A table is the most important
furniture in the house as it’s usually used daily and also on
special occasions. Tables come in many different designs, styles
and sizes, and are made from different materials. Most tables are
made from glass, steel, wood and other materials and require
different types of care. To protect your table from scratches or
burns that leave ugly marks on the table, a table protector is
essential as it helps maintain the quality of your table for a long
time.
Heat is very destructive especially to polished wooden tables
and can leave permanent burn marks. To prevent this, use a heat
resistant table protector. These are at times made from special
rubber and can handle heat up to 1000 C. Another advantage of
rubber table protectors is that they also resist spillages, for
rubber is impermeable to water. For homesteads or people with kids,
protectors made from rubber is a good idea. If you own an expensive
beautifully crafted table that you can’t afford to cover with
rubber, the clear type protector is ideal for you. It is mostly
made from clear PVC.
When choosing a table protector, you should take your table’s
measurement carefully. This is because these protectors are priced
by size. It would be wasting your money to buy an oversized
protector and end up reducing the size, or buying an undersized
that doesn’t serve the purpose. Measure the width and length of
your table correctly if you want a perfect fit for the table top or
add on the measurement if you want a protector that falls off the
edges. If you have a round table measure the diameter, this is done
by taking the distance across your table.
A table protector not only offers protection to tables but they
can be used to decorate. You can use them to match the color of
your walls or to match an occasion like a birthday party, wedding
or a holiday. Protectors made for decorative purposes are
usually made from laced polyester, rayon, linen, cotton and silk.
Silk is the most expensive of all. It is good to note that most
decorative table top protectors will guard your table from
scratches but not from heat. A good and cheap choice would be
microfiber polyester that forces liquid to bead as soon as it
spills.
